Job summary

Vopak, a global energy logistics company, seeks a Project Controller to support capital project cost control, accruals, and forecasting across sustaining and growth initiatives. You will work with project managers to monitor expenditures, validate budgets, and deliver timely financial insights in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and at least 5 years in accounting/controlling with project experience, excellent Excel skills, and strong English

Qualifications

• Accredited bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in company accounting/controlling with cost forecasting, cost accounting, and/or project accounting.
• Experience assessing project status from a cost perspective and advising management on cost status.
• Experience gathering cost information from contractors and suppliers.
• Experience reconciling cost tracking tools to enterprise accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost control support to multiple Project Managers in cost reporting, budget comparison, and forecasting.
• Oversee, track and monitor project total expenditures and performance vs. budget, time-schedule, and recommend actions.
• Support the accrual process by tracking reversals and ensuring invoices match accruals.
• Monthly reconciliation of project cost management tools with accounting systems.
• Inform Finance about project-related tax issues and ensure compliance with local requirements.
• Coordinate monthly accruals and ETCs with stakeholders.
• Prepare project costing reports for weekly and monthly reviews.
• Manage monthly Sustaining Capex reporting, consolidating data for Global stakeholders.
