Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Professional proficiency in English and Cape Verdean.
• Ability to accurately provide consecutive interpretation between English and Cape Verdean.
• Successful completion of language and interpreting proficiency evaluations.
• Résumé in English during the application process.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to travel to onsite assignments.
• Ability to satisfy health and immunization requirements as required by client locations.
• Successful completion of background, security, fingerprinting, and/or drug screening may be required.
• Agreement to confidentiality, privacy, security, and professional ethics requirements.
• One or more years of professional interpreting experience.
• Relevant interpreter training, credentials, or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and Cape Verdean onsite.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with Propio and client confidentiality, privacy, and security policies.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, security, and data-protection requirements.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients and participants.
• Maintain language proficiency and domain knowledge for assignments.
