OpenAI is seeking a Capacity Systems Software Engineer in San Francisco to design and build platforms powering industrial compute planning, forecasting, and optimization. You’ll connect infrastructure delivery, fleet health, capacity utilization, and financial planning into a unified system of record, enabling smarter deployment decisions.

You will partner across Capacity Planning, Fleet Operations, Product, Finance, and Infrastructure Engineering to replace spreadsheet workflows with scalable

Formación

• 5+ years of software/infra engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience building distributed systems and internal platforms.
• Strong API, data pipeline, and integration design skills.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and ownership.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build software systems that serve as the system of record for Industrial Compute planning and operations.
• Develop backend services, APIs, workflows, and data platforms for capacity forecasting, allocation, and deployment readiness.
• Build applications that connect infrastructure delivery, fleet health, capacity utilization, product demand, and financial planning.
• Create workflow automation and decision-support tooling to improve planning accuracy and reduce overhead.
• Partner with multiple teams to translate operational workflows into scalable software systems.
• Drive architecture decisions across planning platforms and internal infrastructure systems.
• Improve data quality, observability, and operational visibility across Industrial Compute programs.
