Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Keep areas and equipment clean and safe following safety rules.

Job Description

2nd Shift Cap Operator

Status: Hourly

Shift: 2nd, 2:00pm-10:00pm

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to Dept. 631 Supervisor

Location: Painesville

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and may be substituted by experience.

Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year stable manufacturing experience preferably in chemical process or ceramic industry. Must have experience with misc. hand tools, tables, racks, boxes, safety guidelines, feeds, grinders, inspection tools, etc.

Principal Area of Responsibility: The Operator in Clean & Cap must be able to perform operations and operate equipment efficiently in performing duties.

Specific Duties
  • Incumbent must handle hazardous waste in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and company policy.
  • Perform all clean and cap operations, including but not limited to: clean & cap tasks, mega dip, maintaining all automated equipment, mold prep, dewax, flashfire and special lot expediting.
  • Meet the specific requirements of the efficiency standard as established by Engineering.
  • Record, on a daily basis, all work performed and the correct distribution of the work time identifying same by operational codes.
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly, following all safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed below.
  • The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to pass a physical, vision, and hearing test.
  • Pass the visual acuity exam.
