Job summary

DCCA in Maryland is seeking a senior Systems Engineer with active TS/SCI with poly to lead requirements analysis, architecture and integration for high-assurance IT programs. You will partner with government clients and internal teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions in cloud, AI/ML and data platforms.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with poly required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 7–10 years of systems engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree and 5–8 years of systems engineering experience.
  • PhD and 3–8 years of systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes user requirements and high‑level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
  • Leads design and development activities and provides technical leadership.
  • Develops system architecture and design documentation.
  • Interacts with Government regarding SE considerations and issues.
  • Ensures technical integrity of work and deliverables.

DCCA is the prime contractor for this Government program that delivers important technical solutions and products using emerging technologies for processing significantly large amounts of data. Program technical areas include commercial cloud technologies, high performance computing, and enterprise architecture. The program is tactically important to the National Security of the United States and the work on these missions are frequently recognized for their results. Position Requirements:

A High School Diploma or GED plus twelve (14) years of general system engineering experience.

OR

A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus seven (10) years of systems engineering experience.

OR

A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus five (8) years of systems engineering experience.

OR

A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus three (8) years of systems engineering experience.

Analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities. Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies. Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develops technical documentation. Develops system Architecture and system design documentation. Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

  • Cloud Architecture/ Cloud Engineer/ Platform Engineering (especially in AWS)
  • AI/ML system design and implementation
    • High-level understanding of the AI lifecycle (development, training, inference, monitoring)
    • Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps
    • Experience with Amazon SageMaker is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholder groups, ability to proactively engage with these groups to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions
  • System security and networking (particularly the implementation of system security on classified systems)
  • Data engineering and data lifecycle management

The proposed salary range for this position in Maryland is 170,000 to 210,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
