Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong vocal ability and confidence leading congregational singing.
• Ability to read music and follow liturgical music arrangements.
• Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and worship practices preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, musicians, and volunteers.
• Professionalism, reliability, and appropriate church demeanor.
• Prior cantor, choir, or vocal performance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead congregational singing during weekend Masses, holy days, weddings, funerals, and other liturgical services
• Proclaim the Responsorial Psalm and sing Gospel Acclamations when assigned
• Prepare assigned music prior to liturgies
• Attend rehearsals and coordinate with the music director and accompanists
• Support prayerful and reverent worship through effective leadership and presence
• Follow liturgical guidelines and seasonal music selections appropriate to the Catholic Church
• Assist in special parish liturgies and music ministry events as needed
• Arrive punctually for rehearsals and liturgical celebrations
