Job summary

BD is looking for an on-site Cannula department operator in Columbus, NE. You will prepare, organize and move product while following BD quality systems and safety regulations. English literacy and forklift operation are required, with attention to meeting production standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or two years of manufacturing experience, and can work well in a team with strong organizational skills and reliability.

  • Check materials for proper batches and segregate as needed.
  • Maintain inventory flow and floor cleanliness in the department.
  • Operate forklifts and related equipment safely; uphold safety policies.
  • Perform other duties to support business needs.

Position Summary:

Responsible for preparing , organizing, and moving of product for the Cannula department. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Meet established production standards and quality requirements of the product and operating with in the policies and procedures of the Quality Sysytem.

  • Check all material for proper batches

  • Segregate material into sub lots as needed

  • Ensure LP’s are not mixed on cart

  • Take daily inventory to ensure product flow to the grind operation

  • Responsible for floor cleaning in the department

  • Dump waste/scrap cannula barrels as needed

  • Conduct grind stone inventory, stock grind stones

  • Prepare beads for grind floor

  • Wrap H1000 Safety Stock Pallets

  • Must be able to safely operate electric forklifts (stand up and sit down), electric pallet jacks, slip sheeting equipment and material tuggers.

  • Must achieve and maintain forklift certification.

  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business

Education:

  • High School diploma/GED preferred

  • In lieu of High School diploma/GED, two years manufacturing experience is required

Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

  • Previous forklift experience preferred

  • Previous experience in cannula, with knowledge of product and processes preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Work effectively on own, or in a team atmosphere – Proficient

  • Verbal communication skills - Proficient

  • Willingness and ability to train others - Proficient
