Job summary

Green Thumb in Virginia is seeking a Lab Technician to join our cannabis production team. You will assist with lab production including distillation, extraction, winterization and production of cannabis-infused products, with emphasis on safety and quality.

The ideal candidate has a science background and prior work in a production lab, familiarity with regulatory requirements, OSHA guidelines, and the ability to follow SOPs and document results in notebooks and databases.

Qualifications

• Associate or 4-year degree in biology, chemistry, or physics.
• Prior production laboratory or manufacturing experience.
• Experience in regulated environments preferred.
• Prior cannabis extraction experience desirable.
• Basic math skills.
• Familiarity with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory equipment and cannabis plant materials for extraction.
• Operate intricate extraction equipment in accordance with SOPs.
• Process cannabis concentrates and extracts.
• Deliver on production goals, while focused on safety and quality.
• Produce product per recipes and SOPs, maintaining high quality standards.
• Clean and maintain extraction equipment and laboratory facility.
• Store supplies and equipment, dispose of waste according to guidelines.
• Wash and sterilize laboratory glassware.
• Monitor production line and collect samples for analysis.
• Follow SOP and analytical procedures to meet GLP and GMP compliance.
• Record data in lab notebooks, computer databases, and test reports.
