Job summary

Vangst is seeking a Cannabis General Laborer in Santa Ana, CA to assist loading and unloading cannabis boxes, operate processing equipment, and support in multiple plant-wide tasks. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced cannabis processing facility.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and follow safety protocols in a dusty, loud environment. PPE and respirators are provided to ensure safe working conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift and move boxes up to 75 pounds.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cannabis boxes safely and efficiently.
• Operate processing equipment safely and effectively.
• Package cannabis products according to company standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth operations.
• Load biomass bags with a pallet jack into the extraction loading machine.
• Handle extraction bags (100–135 lbs) in/out of centrifuges with a hoist.
• Clean the extraction area and equipment.
• Dusty environment; respirators provided.

Cannabis General Laborer

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Various Shift Opportunities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Cannabis Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading boxes of cannabis products, as well as assisting in various stages of cannabis processing. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

There are three primary functions employees rotate through:

• Biomass Loading
  • Load biomass into large processing bags.
  • Bags can weigh approximately 100 lbs.
  • A mechanical hoist is used to lift/move the heavy bags and centrifuges.
• Wash / Centrifuge Operation
  • Operate the equipment used for the wash process.
  • Monitor the process and keep production moving efficiently.
• Unloading & Cleaning
  • Retrieve the bag after the wash cycle.
  • Empty processed biomass into the appropriate bin.
  • Clean and prepare the bag for reuse.
  • Clean buckets and other processing equipment using ethanol.

Working Conditions

Nick and Dominic described the work as fairly monotonous and repetitive, but physically active. Employees are on their feet for essentially the entire shift.

The environment can be:

• Hot
• Dusty
• Physically repetitive
• PPE/masks are provided due to dust.
• Employees need long pants and safety-toe work boots.

• Load and unload boxes of cannabis products safely and efficiently
• Operate processing equipment safely and effectively
• Package cannabis products according to company standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations
• Responsible for loading super sacks of biomass with a pallet jack into our extraction bag loading machine
• handling the extraction bags that are 100-135lbs each in and out of centrifuges with a hoist, and some moderate lifting
• Cleaning the extraction area
• FYI there can be a lot of dust so respirators are provided.

Work Environment:

• Operate in a manufacturing environment, utilizing heavy equipment.
• Be occasionally exposed to odors or airborne particles.
• Work in a potentially loud environment; ear protection may be preferred.
• Work in a slightly lower temperature environment than other areas in the building.
• We provide safety glasses, gloves, respirator, and long sleeve light coats to help protect skin and clothes from biomass dust.
