Job summary

Proper is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for the Festus-West location. This full-time, non-exempt role supports daily dispensary operations, regulatory compliance, and profitability while leading a team of Patient Care Specialists.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience, strong communication, knowledge of Missouri cannabis laws, and a background in cannabis retail. Prior management and retail experience are preferred, with the possibility of internal advancement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Missouri cannabis laws and ability to obtain Missouri Agent ID.
• 21+ years of age and valid driver's license with clean MV record.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; detail oriented.
• Understanding of cannabis strains (Sativa/Indica/Hybrids) and product knowledge.
• 3+ years retail/guest services; 2+ years in a management role (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of cannabis retail experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in daily dispensary operations and profitability.
• Collaborate to implement company policies and procedures.
• Ensure financial and operational goals are supported by staff.
• Oversee inventory, purchasing, and financial reporting accuracy.
• Support audits of POS, inventory, and security systems for compliance.
• Review daily cannabis counts and recordkeeping.
• Maintain compliance with local/state regulations and vendor knowledge.
• Create weekly staff schedules and oversee patient care.
• Lead budtenders and supervise dispensary team; serve as role model.
