Proper Cannabis is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Festus-West for a full-time, non-exempt role open to internal candidates. Prior leadership and retail experience are required to oversee dispensary operations and patient care in compliance with Missouri laws.

You will support the Store Manager, manage a team of Patient Care Specialists, and ensure profitability while upholding the company’s mission and standards. Some travel and physical tasks may be involved.

Qualifications

• Missouri cannabis laws knowledge required or as applicable locally.
• Missouri Agent ID ability required.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MV record.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

We are excited to share an opportunity to fill the role of Assistant Store Managerat our Festus -Westlocation. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is open to our internal employees. Please note that prior leadership and retail experience is required.

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the dispensary in compliance with state and local rules and regulations, as well as the overall profitability of the dispensary. This position handles the needs of all patients, and also develops and manages a team of Patient Care Specialists with a passion for medical cannabis. This position is responsible for upholding Proper Cannabis’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.

Responsibilities

Assists the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the dispensary location. This work may include but is not limited to:

• Collaborating with the Store Manager to implement and manage company and dispensary best practices, policies, and procedures;
• Partnering with the store manager to ensure that all financial and operational goals are achieved and supported by the staff;
• Ensuring that all management, inventory, purchasing, and financial reports are up to date, accurate and readily accessible;
• Assisting with all POS, inventory, and security system audits to ensure the dispensary is in full compliance with state regulations;
• Performing daily counts of all cannabis and cannabis related products in the dispensary;
• Assisting in the oversight of the dispensary’s compliance with local and state regulations;
• Receiving orders and deliveries and recording quantities and timing;
• Ensuring all safety protocols and procedures are followed by all team members and patients;
• Maintaining in-depth knowledge of all store vendors, products, strains, and industry trends;
• Creating weekly schedules;
• Assists in the oversight of customer relations and patient care;
• Assists in the management the dispensary team, including patient care specialists (budtenders);
• Serving as a role model and resource for dispensary staff concerning products and services, policies, procedures, industry news and changes in regulations;

Qualifications

The following education, skills and experience are required for this role:

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Missouri and local cannabis laws;
• Ability to obtain a Missouri Agent ID;
• Must be 21 years of age or older;
• Valid Driver’s License & Clear MV report based on company MV requirements;
• Strong leadership and team management skills;
• Ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Thorough understanding of the medicinal implications and effects of strains including Sativa, Indica, and Hybrids.

Preferred

The following education, skills and experience are preferred for this role:

• 3+ years in retail and guest services;
• 2+ years of experience in a management environment;
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field;
• 2+ years of cannabis retail experience.

Environment

This position requires the ability to reach, bend, stoop, sit, and stand, and carry and lift up to 30 lbs. The work environment is an environmentally controlled retail store. This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
