The Bark Yard in Portland, ME is seeking a Canine Coordinator Lead to blend hands-on training with staff mentorship and client communication. You will guide enrichment and training programs using positive reinforcement and ensure high-quality care.

This role requires leading a team, evaluating canine behavior, and maintaining a safe facility in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork.

Qualifications

• CCPDT certification required.
• Experience in dog daycare, boarding, or training.
• Strong knowledge of canine behavior and body language.
• Confident handling of dogs of all sizes (100+ lbs).
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead enrichment and training programs using positive reinforcement.
• Conduct day training and private sessions with dog parents.
• Train and mentor staff on behavior, handling, and safety standards.
• Communicate with clients, providing updates within 24 hours.

About the Role

The Canine Coordinator Lead is a hands-on leadership role combining dog training, staff mentorship, and client communication. You'll ensure high-quality care, guide team performance, and support both dogs and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM or 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Compensation

• $23 to $24 perhour (DOE)
• Monthly: $3,680-$3,840
