Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle in Cincinnati is seeking a Production Operator to join the packaging team. You will start up and operate packaging equipment, monitor product quality, and assist with line changeovers and sanitation to ensure smooth production flow.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, ability to pass drug and background checks, and is comfortable working a 12-hour continental schedule with rotating weeks.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Previous manufacturing/warehouse/distribution experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to work overtime hours, above your normal schedule, to meet customer demands.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills.
• Ability to wear PPE such as safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, hairnet and beard net when required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs; push/pull 350-lb carts when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor packaging equipment to maintain product flow.
• Inspect package integrity, seals, code dates, and weights.
• Monitor and maintain correct product/case weights.
• Troubleshoot equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Perform data entry into the computer and maintain a clean area.
• Follow GMP and safety policies and promote safe work practices.
