Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) seeks a Cancer Registry Specialist to record malignant tumors and CNS tumors, manage annual follow-ups for outcomes, and coordinate with physicians and external departments to support QA and regulatory reporting.

The role requires 1 year of cancer registry or EMR experience, an associate degree, and CTR preparation within 18 months. Proficiency with PowerChart and MS Office is preferred; attention to detail is essential for accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree; CTR exam prep within 18 months.
• Preferred associate degree in medical field with registry/health information.
• One year of cancer registry, EMR, or related healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Records a coded summary of malignant solid and hematopoietic tumors and malignant/benign CNS tumors.
• Enters annual case follow-ups for outcomes tracking and survival statistics.
• Reviews patient medical records, coordinates with cancer center physicians, and communicates with external departments and organizations.
• Abstracts, follows up, and promotes quality assurance (QA).
• Submits charts to Cancer Registrar/Certified or Supervisor/Cancer Registry for approval before processing.
• Participates in rapid cancer reporting system, state, and NCDB submissions, and QA.
• Works with Cancer Registry to monitor operations and regulatory compliance.
• Assists with Cancer Committee meetings and accreditation maintenance.
