Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to perform daily clinical research activities within the Recruitment, Intervention and Survey Shared Resource of the Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a biological or medical field and at least one year of clinical research experience, with strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a clinical research capacity is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology desired.
• Computer skills with MS Office applications desired.
• Effective communication with clinical staff, research participants, and collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assessing patient records to identify eligible participants.
• Recruit, interview and enroll patients.
• Obtain informed consent in compliance with regulatory and sponsor requirements.
• Educate patients and families about study purpose, goals and processes.
• Coordinate scheduling and follow-through of appointments and tests per protocol.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and notify appropriate professionals.
• Document unfavorable responses and notify sponsors and regulatory agencies.
• Assist with collecting, extracting, coding and analyzing data.
• Ensure compliance with IRB, FDA, and sponsor regulations.
• Prepare for external quality assurance and regulatory reviews.
• Participate in developing new protocols and study goals.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences or related medical field

Clinical research certification (desired)
