Cancer Center Triage RN - Hematology/Oncology

Job Description: The Cancer Center Triage RN is responsible for receiving incoming calls from Hematology/Oncology patients, caregivers, physicians, and healthcare organizations. Using the nursing process and EMR-embedded triage protocols, the nurse assesses patients, facilitates communication with providers, and offers appropriate care options. The role includes nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and care coordination across the healthcare continuum.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to incoming calls from Hematology/Oncology patients and related parties.
• Assess patient needs using EMR protocols and nursing processes.
• Coordinate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Provide appropriate guidance and care options based on assessments.

Job Details:

• Location: Remote

• Salary Range: $89,019 - $109,964 (based on experience and qualifications)

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an approved RN program (Required); Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Preferred)
• At least 3 years of Hematology/Oncology or related experience (Required); ambulatory care, triage, or ED experience (Preferred)
• Valid Texas RN license (Required), BLS, ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy, and related certifications (Required); OCN Certification (Preferred)

Skills:

• Experience with EMRs and basic PC skills; Epic experience (Preferred)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
