Responsibilities
The Cancer Center Triage RN is responsible for receiving incoming calls from Hematology/Oncology patients and their caregivers, physicians, and healthcare organizations. Using the nursing process and EMR-embedded triage protocols, the nurse will assess the patient, facilitate communication with providers, and offer appropriate options for care. The role encompasses nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the healthcare continuum.

Salary Range: $89,019 – $109,964 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)
Qualifications
Education
Required:Graduate from an approved RN program
Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Experience
Required: 3 years Hematology/Oncology and/or related experience
Preferred: Ambulatory care experience
Telephone triage experience
Emergency Department experience
License(s)
Required:Valid and current Texas RN license
BLS
ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy
Fundamentals of Administration or ONS
Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
Course within 3 months of employment
Preferred:OCN Certification
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
Special Skills
Required:Experience with EMRs
Basic PC skills including Windows Operating System
Preferred:Epic experience
Other
Required:Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
