Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Phlebotomist in Boston to perform venipuncture, fingersticks, and specimen labeling under supervision. You will ensure proper patient identification and vein preservation, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Registration preferred: ASCP Registered, Certificate 1 preferred: NCA Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures, including blood culture collection and fingersticks with proper ID/labeling.
• Perform and report bleeding times according to SOPs.
• Ensure adequate stocking of supplies and report needs to phlebotomy leaders.
• Transport specimens to testing sites.
• Participate in QA, competency, mandatory training and continuing education.
