Job summary

Avera Cancer Institute is seeking a PRN Scheduling Specialist to support the Float Pool and ensure seamless, compassionate scheduling across multiple clinics and care teams. You will organize appointments for labs, imaging, infusion, procedures, surgeries, and telemedicine, while coordinating referrals and maintaining clear communication with physicians and patients.

This role emphasizes patient-focused care and collaboration, with Monday–Friday hours and no weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• High School or GED; Associate's in medical secretarial studies preferred.
• 1–3 years experience as a scheduler, biller, or in a medical office.

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments for new and existing patients, ensuring timely access to care.
• Coordinates care across departments including labs, infusion, imaging, procedures, surgeries, and telemedicine.
• Facilitates referrals and collaborates with Avera’s network to support continuity of care.
