Job summary

The Salk Institute for Biological Studies is seeking a Research Assistant II to support the laboratory of Dr. Christina Towers and Dr. Lucia Strader, focusing on molecular biology and cancer research related to cellular recycling in pediatric and other cancers.

Responsibilities include tissue culture, cloning, and mouse tumor xenograft work. The role involves lab supply management, assisting postdocs, training students, maintaining safety records, and documenting experiments with precision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field required.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a scientific role or equivalent.
• Experience with cell culture and molecular biology techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently maintaining human cell cultures.
• Tissue culture, molecular cloning, and molecular biology protocols.
• Mouse handling and tumor xenograft studies.
• Manage lab supplies, orders, and safety records.
• Train and assist lab personnel in techniques and equipment usage.
