Job summary

Chesterman Company in Sioux City, IA is seeking a reliable can line operator to startup, run, and shutdown equipment on the can line and backup on the bottle line as needed.

This full-time role requires ability to learn machinery, read instructions, and work safely in a warehouse environment. Shift is 4:00pm to 2:00am, Monday through Friday with potential extended hours; pay is $20.00 per hour with shift differential.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Learn and operate all machinery on the can line and bottle line.
• Monitor palletizers and maintain safe operation.
• Operate the can line filler/seamer safely and efficiently.
• Run the Hicone, tray maker, and multi-packer effectively.
• Keep multipacker running and manage product changeovers.
• Watch for crushed or down bottles and keep area clean.
• Able to adapt to changes and perform essential tasks as assigned.

Position Summary

To start up, operate, and shut down the equipment on the can line. Work as a backup on the bottle line as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Must be able to learn and operate all machinery on the can line and bottle line
• Watch operation of palletizers
• Operate the can line filler/seamer safely and efficiently.
• Operate the Hicone, tray maker and the multi-packer effectively and efficiently
• Keep multipacker running
• Change over products
• Watch for crushed and down bottles
• Keep floor area clean and picked up
• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Work Environment

Works in a warehouse. Ear protection is required in production areas. Eye protection required while on forklift. Must wear hair/beard net in designated areas. May work extended hours or days to complete production.
