Job summary

Bayside Community Church is seeking a Campus Worship Director for the Bayshore Gardens Campus in Florida. This full-time, on-site role leads weekly worship, coordinates sound checks and rehearsals, and oversees campus programming and onboarding of worship volunteers.

You will work closely with the Campus Pastor, guide worship teams, train leaders, and ensure high-quality services. Proficiency in music theory and Ableton, plus a clear leadership style, are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Communicates the vision and direction of worship to volunteers and leaders in alignment with Bayside’s vision.
• Direct and lead weekly worship services, sound checks, rehearsals.
• Oversee scheduling, service planning and weekly programming meetings.
• Care and pastor the worship team members and families.
• Oversee the onboarding process for the campus; auditions, interviews, and training nights.
• Oversee and develop leaders and coaches for the campus worship team.
• Oversee production team leadership with ministry vision and direction.
• Communicate details related to services and events for the campus.
• Supports campus events as needed.
• Have an understanding of band instrumentation and vocal harmony; lead band and vocal rehearsals.

CAMPUS WORSHIP DIRECTOR

BAYSIDE PURPOSE: To help people know God, find family, live in freedom, and discover their purpose.

MINISTRY PURPOSE: To cultivate authentic and creative worship experiences where people can encounter God and want to return.

POSITION STATUS: Exempt

WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time | 40+ Hours/Week

LOCATION: Bayshore Gardens Campus

REPORTS TO: Campus Pastor

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicates the vision and direction of worship to volunteers and leaders in alignment with Bayside’s vision
• Direct and lead weekly worship services, sound checks, rehearsals
• Oversee scheduling, service planning and weekly programming meetings
• Care and pastor the worship team members and families.
• Oversee the onboarding process for the campus; auditions, interviews, and training nights
• Oversee and develop leaders and coaches for the campus worship team.
• Oversee production team leadership with ministry vision and direction.
• Communicate details related to services and events for the campus
• Supports campus events as needed
• Have a working knowledge of music theory and the Nashville number system.
• Ability to create charts, edit MP3s and tutorials as needed.
• Have an understanding and willingness to learn Ableton software.
• Have an understanding of band instrumentation and vocal harmony. Be able to lead, with detail and clarity, band and vocal rehearsals.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

Performance will be measured based on four criteria:

• Effectiveness in cultivating excellence in worship experiences and services.
• Creates an environment where volunteers are recruited, well trained, developed, cared for, and able to use their gifts and talents to serve effectively.
• Ability to work with other leaders to ensure weekly services are of the highest quality.
• Effectiveness of systems developed to produce the highest possible quality for all worship experiences.
