Job summary

Pima Community College in Tucson seeks part-time Peer Mentors to welcome PCC students and assist with navigating college processes. Mentors greet students in person or by phone, support program events, and help connect students to advisors and resources. The role is part of a temporary employment pool for ongoing staffing needs; candidates may be contacted as opportunities arise or timing permits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; must be enrolled as PCC student.
• Ability to work with diverse student population and provide excellent customer service.
• Experience in student leadership, service-learning projects, college work experience, or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet students in person or by phone in SSCs and at events.
• Help students navigate college processes (MyPima, paperwork, advisor connections).
• Assist with NSO, Student Life events and other student affairs programming.
• Set up and manage digital resources (MyPima, D2L).
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, data entry, email, and general office duties.
• Support leadership training and community engagement activities.
