Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is hiring a Transportation/Delivery Assistant (Vending) to support Miami University’s Vending Operations on campus. This regular, hourly role offers a 40-hour work week with a 5:00 a.m.

to 1:30 p.m. shift, Monday through Friday, on campus. You will stock, service, and manage vending machines, use inventory software and iPads, analyze stock reports, test equipment, and supervise student workers.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and one year of moving, delivery, warehousing, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required.
• Proficiency using computer programs, mobile applications, and iPads for inventory and route management.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other powered material-handling equipment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with student employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an assigned vending route, including stocking and servicing beverage and snack vending machines.
• Utilize inventory software, reports, iPads, and mobile apps to manage stock levels and prepare products for machines.
• Analyze inventory reports to determine proper product mix and maintain machine planograms and pricing.
• Test vending equipment during route stops; identify, troubleshoot, and mitigate functionality issues as needed.
• Coordinate and work alongside student employees during the academic year to ensure routes are completed efficiently and on time.
• Transport product from delivery trucks to campus buildings using dollies, carts, hand jacks, electric jacks, or forklifts.
• Operate University vehicles, including box trucks, to deliver and distribute products to specified campus locations.
• Load and unload materials and supplies from vehicles.
• Perform general warehousing and distribution duties on a regular basis.
• Spend the majority of the workday on campus completing assigned route stops.
