Job summary

The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking a Plant Supervisor to oversee operations of the Central Utility Plant and campus facilities. You will supervise, mentor, and coordinate work, ensuring safe and efficient operation of boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and related equipment.

Responsibilities include scheduling preventative maintenance, coordinating parts, and ensuring compliance with building and safety codes. Evening/weekend coverage may be required, with on-site work at UNO campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates degree in Stationary Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Five years’ experience with large commercial HVAC equipment and building mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain all equipment in the Central Utility Plant and campus buildings.
• Perform preventative maintenance and coordinate equipment/supply purchases.
• Supervise, mentor, and inspect Plant Operators; prepare evaluations and assign work orders.
• Respond to trouble calls outside normal hours and take appropriate action.
