Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks a Transportation Manager in Mission, TX to oversee safe daily student transport for up to 1,000 riders. You will lead a team of up to 20, coordinate with campus leaders, and drive cost-efficient operations while upholding compliance and safety standards.

The role includes managing dispatch, safety trainings, incident responses, and continuous improvement of routes using Transfinder/Synovia tools, with a focus on high staff retention and exceptional service to families.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate clearly with staff, students, and school leaders.
• Ability to coach and resolve conflicts to maintain department productivity.
• Strong leadership to delegate tasks and manage diverse skill sets.
• Efficient time management to balance driving schedules and training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe student transportation, aiming for 0 preventable incidents.
• Train drivers in pre/post trip inspections and safety checks.
• Maintain credentials and ensure on-time adherence to schedules.
• Respond to accidents, coordinate with authorities, and document incidents.
• Monitor routes, driver performance, and fleet safety metrics.
• Provide excellent customer service to school staff, parents, and partners.
• Supervise Campus Transportation Assistant Manager and Bus Drivers.
