Mass General Brigham is seeking a shuttle bus driver to operate a passenger coach-type vehicle onsite at North Shore Medical Center. The role reports to the Transportation Supervisor, supporting safe, courteous transport for patients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–2 years as shuttle bus driver.
  • Licenses: MGH RMV check/driver record required.
  • Skills: safe driving, customer service, and documentation.

Job Summary

Summary Responsible for operating a shuttle bus and/or passenger coach-type vehicle. Reports to the Supervisor of Transportation (or to a designated individual in the Supervisor's absence). Does this position require Patient Care? No

Essential Functions
  • Provide safe, courteous, and professional service to passengers while en route to/from destinations.
  • Follow established routes and departure times. Communicates with dispatch for guidance on any detours/delays.
  • Operates vehicles in accordance with Mass General Brigham Fleet Safety Program Policies and Procedures, as well as in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Ensures adherence to passenger limits for both seated and standing passengers.
  • Assists passengers with disabilities and others needing assistance in boarding and disembarking from the vehicle via the wheelchair lift.
  • Reports any emergencies/concerns with the vehicle and/or passengers immediately to the Supervisor and/or Dispatcher.
  • Safely transports passengers to various destinations while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
  • Adheres to assignments in accordance with scheduled shuttle routes prepared by the Manager, Supervisor, and/or Dispatcher.

MGH Security RMV Check/Registry of Motor Vehicles Driving Report - MGB Internal required

Experience

Proven experience as a shuttle bus driver 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent driving skills for shuttle buses and coach-type vehicles with the ability to navigate various road and weather conditions safely.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Great improvisational skills.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
