Job summary

Campus Supervisor

Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 12-Month, Category 4

Salary Range: $25.00-$32.00 per hour

Reports to: Director of Campus Safety

Shift Hours: 3:00PM to 11:00PM

The Campus Supervisor position is one of three layers of security and requires the full attention and commitment to the safety and well-being of Oaks Christian School. A Campus Supervisor work with a team but will also be required to perform solo tasks. Working closely with the Office of Student Life, a Campus Supervisor must be able to supervise and monitor student behavior at the Middle and High School campus during and after school hours. This includes lunch breaks and between periods. The scope of the duties also includes maintaining the security of all facilities (Dorms, Learning Center, Idea Lab, etc.) that are occupied by staff, faculty, and students. Since reports can have legal, historical, evidential, and statistical importance, a Campus Supervisor needs to write reports that detail events events in a clear and precise manner.

Responsibilities will include the following:
  • Operate in your spiritual gift(s). Serve the school in whatever capacity God uses you in.
  • Communicate and working closely with the Office of Student Life regarding issues of safety and security matters. Assist the administration with various tasks such as reviewing footage on the security cameras upon request.
  • Supervise students before school, during passing periods/lunch times and after school to keep the school community safe.
  • Respond to and prevent violations of school rules and guidelines as described in the campus handbook.
  • Communicate with administration about the behavior of students; notify appropriate school administrators of situations which require immediate attention.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining an environment that stimulates the growth of desirable social, emotional and health habits for the school community.
  • Work with the Office of Student Life in assigning appropriate consequences and affirming positive behavior. Supervise in school detention.
  • Prevention of a student from engaging in unsafe activities; may administer routine minor first aid and be capable of performing CPR, if necessary.
  • Constantly monitor the campus and parking lots during the school day to ensure a safe campus. Observe and report campus safety hazards and communicate issues with the facilities staff.
  • Assist school personnel with any needs that arise during the school day.
  • Help to monitor car traffic before and after school.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with the school community and guests.
  • Fill key roles during crisis management scenarios (fire, earthquake, weather, lockdown, etc.).
  • Collaborate effectively with all the faculty/staff, contracted employees (CFM and Allied Universal Services) and the campus supervisor team.
  • Attend faculty and staff training.
  • Assist with the transportation of students when needed in a school vehicle.
  • Assist with the supervision of special events on nights and weekends.
  • Complete other various tasks as assigned by the administration.
  • Be available to supervise a classroom or study hall.
  • Employee hours will be 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Shift hours will be determined by the supervisor and may include additional hours working special events.
Physical Abilities:
  • Visual capability to read handwritten or typed documents, and the display screen of various office equipment and machines.
  • Able to conduct verbal conversation.
  • Able to hear normal range verbal conversation (approximately 60 decibels).
  • Able to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, walk.
  • Able to climb slopes, stairs, steps, and ladders.
  • Able to stand for sustained periods of time.
  • Able to walk for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds frequently.
  • Able to carry up to 50 pounds for extended distances and use a golf cart to transport items.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for shoulder external rotation and internal rotation.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for shoulder abduction and adduction.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motions for shoulder extension and flexion.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for elbow flexion and extension.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for back lateral flexion.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for hip flexion and extension.
  • Able to exhibit full range of motion for knee flexion.
  • Able to work in a wide range of weather conditions.
