Moreau Catholic High School is currently seeking a dynamic individual for a Campus Supervisor.
Founded in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Moreau Catholic High School emphasizes college-preparatory excellence in all programs designed to facilitate the informative, formative, and transformative needs of the individual student. Located approximately 25 miles southeast of San Francisco, in Hayward, California, the school is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). With approximately 850 students, the co-educational student body reflects the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the Bay Area, and the school has enjoyed a 99% collegiate matriculation. Our graduating seniors have been accepted into 1,000+ universities and colleges yearly, and have garnered, on average, between $11-14 million in scholarships and grants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under general supervision of the AP of Climate and Culture/Dean of Students, the Campus Supervisor patrols school grounds for the purpose ofidentifying potential problems regarding the welfare, safety and security of students, personnel, visitors and/or site; maintainsafety at school site by enforcing disciplinary policies and regulations; respond to inquiries. Work schedules may be adjusted toaccommodate varied assignments.
- Patrol campus and parking lot during or after school hours providing general supervision of students outside of class; control, monitor and direct unauthorized persons on campus and in parking lot areas.
- Assist and direct authorized campus visitors to appropriate offices.
- Inspect, review, and monitor school grounds to ensure student behavior conforms to school policy; intervene insituations likely to result in disruption or injury, and mediate or remediate student conduct as necessary. Referstudents to AP of Climate and Culture/Dean of Students in cases of flagrant or repeated violations of school regulations.
- May contact law enforcement agencies in consultation with school administrators, to maintain the security andcontrol of campus and parking areas. May prepare vandalism, property damage and theft reports.
- Report observed safety hazards and respond to potential emergencies (e.g. fights, accidents, fire, etc.) for thepurpose of ensuring the safety of students, personnel and property.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Google Docs,internet search, and/or various web applications.
- Ability to establish cooperative, tactful, effective and harmonious working relationships with a diverse group ofindividuals, ranging from students, parents, senior management, administration, board members, corporate leaders,faculty, staff, volunteers and the general public.
- Demonstrate understanding of the Mariner Mindset and restorative practices in interactions with others.
- Use discretion and tact when responding to sensitive matters or situations.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED; 1-3 years of experience in campus security working with adolescent age students required.
- Experience in loss prevention, or crowd control functions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity of restorative practices a plus.
- Ability to learn, interpret and enforce school rules, regulations, and policies regarding student behavior and discipline.
- Ability to intervene in emergency or potentially critical situations, diffuse potentially volatile situations using tact,diplomacy and good judgment.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given,prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Requires a valid California driver’s license and evidence of insurability; first aid and CPR certification; guard card and/or law enforcement training preferred.
- Must be able to work all shifts including an occasional weekend day

- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation,including meeting regular, punctual attendance, and qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to walk for prolonged periods; work in an outdoor environment with exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, noise;may perform filing, sorting, storing documents and files. This would require the ability to move, transport or positionfiles, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The employee must occasionally move upto 30 pounds.
Salary & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $25.89 – $33.70 per hour.Moreau Catholic offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
