Job summary

Kern High School District is seeking a Student Store Manager to operate the campus store and manage stock and student workers. This role requires overseeing concessions operations, training student staff, and maintaining records with strong math and cash-handling skills.

Applicants should have clerical experience and will need a Food Safety Certificate upon placement; a pre-employment medical assessment and criminal history check are required before employment. Hours are 8:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of record keeping and inventory methods.
• Experience with store/concessions operations.
• Ability to learn cash register operation and related equipment.
• Ability to supervise student workers.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
• One year of clerical experience, preferably with retail.
• Food Safety Certificate required upon placement.
• Pre-employment medical and criminal history check required.

Responsibilities

• Operate an on-campus student store and maintain stock.
• Direct and supervise student assistants.
• Handle stocking/retailing procedures and customer service.
• Prepare records and logs and communicate effectively.
• Work hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
