Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is hiring a Part-Time Campus Store Team Member to deliver exceptional customer service and support daily store operations at our campus store in Virginia. You will assist customers, locate materials, and process transactions while maintaining a clean, organized sales floor.

The role offers year-round, part-time hours including evenings, weekends, and peak periods. Must be at least 18 and enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by greeting customers, answering questions, and providing friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Assist customers in locating course materials, school supplies, apparel, gifts, convenience items, and other merchandise that best meets their needs.
• Operate the point-of-sale system to accurately process transactions, including cash, credit, and financial aid purchases.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor through merchandising, replenishment, recovery, and housekeeping.
• Support daily store operations by assisting with inventory, receiving merchandise, order fulfillment, and other operational tasks to keep the store customer-ready.
• Develop product knowledge by staying informed about merchandise, promotions, store services, and course materials to confidently assist customers.
• Work collaboratively with teammates to accomplish daily priorities while adapting to changing business needs in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and organized store environment that reflects the Barnes & Noble College brand and delivers an exceptional customer experience.
