Job summary

Midwestern University’s University Store seeks a detail-oriented Store Associate to greet customers, assist with purchasing books and supplies, and maintain a welcoming retail space. You will handle cash transactions, receive new stock, and help manage inventory while supporting campus events and promotions.

The role reports to the University Store Manager and requires adherence to policies, with hours Monday–Friday 9:00 am–5:30 pm and some flexibility to meet store needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of retail or customer service experience required.
• MS Office proficiency required; experience with retail management software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in locating books, supplies, and merchandise.
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
• Receive, unpack, and organize incoming merchandise.
• Maintain an orderly and visually appealing store layout.
• Monitor inventory levels and restock shelves.
• Provide excellent customer service and address inquiries and complaints.
• Support University Store events, campus events, and promotions.
• Perform regular cleaning duties to keep a tidy store environment.
• Follow all store policies and procedures for safe, efficient operations.
