Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX seeks a Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in meal production and kitchen leadership. Qualifications

• Prior culinary and food service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and performance reviews.
• Stores food in designated areas following sanitation procedures.
• Maintains proper food handling, presentation, and serving temperatures.
• Keeps workstation and equipment clean; ensures sanitation and safety.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints and communicates with supervisor.
• Explains daily menu items to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; informs supervisor when low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
