Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at University of Jamestown in Jamestown, ND is hiring a full-time Sous Chef. The position offers a fixed pay rate of $25.00 per hour and requires flexibility in schedule, including weekends, with opportunities for growth and benefits.

As Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef, supervise cooks, ensure food safety and recipe accuracy, manage production, and help maintain quality and service during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Experience as a sous chef is preferred.
• Ability to supervise kitchen staff effectively.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates.
• Stores food following all sanitation procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and workstation.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Explains daily menu items to staff and customers.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
