Job summary

University of Georgia in Athens is seeking a Student Social Media Intern to create and edit content for Auxiliary Services' social channels, document campus life at events, and help tell the university story.

The role requires familiarity with cameras and audio gear, Adobe Premiere Pro, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. This is a part-time internship with a 0.47 FTE allocation and a starting wage of $12.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with creating and analyzing social media content.
• Familiarity and experience with cameras, microphones, lighting equipment, and Adobe Premiere Pro and Creative Suite are desirable.
• Be a creative self‑starter, willing to talk to people from all over campus.
• Demonstrated experience with social media for a brand.
• Ability to conceptualize and manage multiple social media projects.

Responsibilities

• Promote the value of Auxiliary Services departments to internal and external audiences.
• Conceptualize and create content for Auxiliary Services social media channels.
• Attend Auxiliary Services events to document with videos and photos for social media.
• Document Auxiliary Services student employees at work, student life, and more with videos and photos for social media.
• Collaborate with student video producers as needed to create video content for Auxiliary Services social media channels and website.
• Function as a resource for accurate information concerning Auxiliary Services departments and university operations.
• Participate in training and in-service activities.
• Participate in meeting activities including, but not limited to, staff meetings, committees, and one‑on‑one meetings with supervisor.
• Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the position as assigned.
• Support, communicate, enforce, and abide by all university and division procedures and regulations.
