Job summary

Waubonsee Community College is seeking a part-time Shuttle Bus Driver (Temporary) for the Sugar Grove campus. The role focuses on safe passenger transport, vehicle inspections, and adherence to safety regulations on campus routes.

The position requires a high school diploma and a valid Illinois driver's license. CDL with passenger or school bus endorsement is preferred. This is a part-time, on-site role with morning shifts during the spring semester.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License; CDL with Passenger or School Bus endorsement preferred.
• Safe driving practices.
• Knowledge of Illinois Motor Vehicle Code for public transportation.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to operate a transit vehicle safely.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and welfare of passengers.
• Perform daily written inspection of the vehicle.
• Check communication devices before each trip.
• Arrange for routine maintenance and transport vehicles as needed.
• Maintain adequate fuel levels at all times.
• Operate vehicle in compliance with road and safety regulations.
• Keep vehicle clean and presentable.
• Inventory and report emergency supplies.
• Evacuate passengers during emergencies and report incidents.
• Attend trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
