Job summary

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Department of Public Safety is seeking a full-time Watch Commander-style Shift Supervisor to supervise contract security officers, train staff, assign tasks, and review performance. The role includes campus patrols and ensuring a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, producing reports, and maintaining order on campus while working a 4/10 AWS schedule and potentially overtime during peak

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; ongoing knowledge updates.
• Current California Guard Card within six months of hire.
• CPR/First-Aid & AED certifications required or must be obtained within six months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and train contract security officers.
• Respond to emergencies (fire, medical, burglaries) and report to DPS on duty.
• Generate daily activity and incident reports.
• Circulate among campus community; warn rule infractions.
• Provide customer service and escort/access where needed.
• Represent LMU DPS in campus and professional organizations.
• Patrol premises to prevent intrusions and hazards.
• Be able to work overtime, all shifts, weekends, holidays and peak periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
