Job summary

The Diocese of Orlando seeks a Security Guard Coordinator to help maintain a safe environment for parishioners, staff, and visitors at the campus in Leesburg, Florida. The role coordinates schedules, monitors procedures, and serves as a liaison with parish administration and law enforcement.

You will engage in door alarms, camera monitoring, safety checklists, and emergency preparedness, working with Maintenance to keep exits and lighting operational.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in law enforcement or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five years of safety or security experience required.
• Training or certification in safety and security preferred.
• Requires appreciation and respect for Catholic Church teachings.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that building doors are locked and alarms are set each evening.
• Ensures lights and AC units are turned off at end of day as appropriate.
• Maintains a visible presence during evening activities.
• Creates schedules to ensure appropriate security coverage.
• Liaises with off-duty law enforcement personnel and parish staff.
• Identifies unusual or suspicious activity on campus.
• Familiarizes with safety policies and emergency procedures.
• Monitors campus security systems and cameras as scheduled.
• Keeps vendors and guests within designated areas.
• Assists with daily safety and facility checklists.
• Coordinates with Maintenance for emergency lighting and exits.
• Supports fire and safety inspections and issues resolution.
• Ensures emergency maps and safety materials are posted.
• Interfaces with parish and school staff on safety concerns.
• Attends trainings and meetings to stay current on practices.
