Job summary

Maarif School in Wayne, New Jersey, is seeking a dependable Unarmed Security Guard for the 2027–2028 academic year. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous security, law enforcement, school safety, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of security procedures and emergency protocols.
• Strong observation, communication, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to respond calmly and professionally to emergencies and challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances, exits, access points, and visitor check-in procedures.
• Maintain a visible, professional security presence and conduct campus patrols.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access-control equipment.
• Identify, document, and report suspicious activity and safety concerns.
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, events, and crowd management.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies per school procedures.
• Support lockdowns, evacuations, drills, and safety initiatives.
• Maintain accurate security logs, visitor records, and incident reports.
• Communicate concerns to school administration and coordinate with responders.
• Inspect facilities for safety hazards and unsecured areas.
• Maintain confidentiality and interact respectfully with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
