Job summary

The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District is seeking a Substitute Armed School Security Officer for Manalapan, NJ. This role supports student and staff safety, patrolling buildings and grounds and enforcing access controls.

Availability begins 9/08/2026; closing date 5/18/2027. Applicants must hold a High School diploma (or equivalent), a NJ driver's license, and Armed SORA certification or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent valid New Jersey driver's license
• 25 years of service in a Law Enforcement and retired in good standing
• Must hold/obtain Armed SORA Certification
• Knowledge of security measures, fire prevention and crowd control
• Ability to maintain order and to work with groups and individuals on matters of security and crisis management
• Must pass psychological testing, drug evaluation, and a criminal history background check
• Possess and maintain a valid State of New Jersey Permit to Carry a Handgun

Responsibilities

• Patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent disruptions, access restricted areas, theft or vandalism.
• Work under supervision of the Director of School Safety and Security, Superintendent or building Principal to carry out duties.
