Job summary

University of Miami is seeking a full-time Security Officer 2 to patrol assigned property and grounds, ensuring the safety of building occupants and safeguarding university property. The role also involves assisting individuals on campus during emergencies.

Responsibilities include monitoring alarms, responding to emergencies, investigating incidents, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a secure environment across hospital and campus facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or relevant experience/certification.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant security experience required.
• Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Patrols hospitals, buildings, grounds to prevent and document crimes.
• Monitor and respond to security, fire, and environmental alarms.
• Assist in follow-up actions as necessary.
• Respond to emergency calls and disasters.
• Investigate unusual incidents reported by staff, visitors, physicians, and patients.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Handle disruptive individuals with appropriate verbal interventions.
• Assist with traffic control as necessary.
• Complete incident reports and documentation.
