Job summary

Adams 12 Five Star Schools is seeking a School Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure learning environment. The role involves patrolling campus, monitoring student behavior, enforcing district policies, and assisting administrators during emergencies.

The position may require varied hours, including evenings and weekends. A criminal background check is required, and CPR/CPI and First Aid certifications must be completed within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Must successfully complete a pre-hire physical examination.
• CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications required within 3 months of entering position.
• Motor Vehicle Record may be submitted at time of application where applicable.
• 3–5 years experience working with groups of students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of students and campus; high visibility patrols and enforcement of school policies.
• Assist visitors, monitor access, and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Investigate incidents with cameras and assist during crisis situations (drills, lockdowns).
• Mediate infractions, document incidents, and help assign disciplinary measures as needed.
• Supervise students during study periods and at after-school programs; escort as required.
• Provide security at events outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

3-5 years experience with student groups preferred
