Job summary

Methodist-University is seeking a full-time Security Officer to protect students, staff, and guests on its Fayetteville campus. The role requires standing for extended periods, incident reporting, and responding to emergencies with basic medical aid when needed.

Responsibilities include patrols, door/windows checks, and enforcing university rules. Training on public safety procedures will be provided, with a focus on safety and community service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BSOT, BLET, Military or Security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protect the Methodist University Community from theft, vandalism, and disruption of the educational process.
• Perform rescue/first responder functions during emergencies and disasters.
• Stand for long periods and provide basic emergency medical aid as needed.
• Assist in securing and evacuating people from campus areas.
• Extinguish small fires with handheld extinguishers or other means.
• Respond to incidents with visual surveillance, foot patrols, ID checks and traffic details.
• Ensure campus facilities are secured per security plans and procedures.
