Job summary

Joffe Emergency Services seeks a Campus Safety Officer in the St. Louis, MO area to be the first responder for campus emergencies, enforce safety policies, and monitor facilities to maintain a secure environment for students and staff.

This full-time role offers training, uniforms, and benefits, with pay of $18–$20 per hour. You will support investigations, direct visitors, and coordinate with local law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficient in report writing and clear communication.
• Experience working in a school campus environment is a plus.
• High school diploma required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification (training provided if needed).
• Customer-service driven mindset.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to campus emergencies as first responder.
• Enforce campus safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular security tours of campus facilities.
• Monitor for trespassers, vandalism, and safety hazards.
• Lock/unlock buildings for events and secure campus.
• Report hazardous conditions to management.
• Ensure lighting is proper and report electrical issues.
• Verify only authorized persons on campus during duty.
• Direct visitors and assist as needed.
• Monitor parking lots and enforce traffic regulations.
• Enforce smoking, alcohol, and drug policies.
• Observe weather and report dangers.
• Assist investigations with footage and incident reports.
• Liaise with local law enforcement.
• Provide awareness information to students and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who We Are Looking For

Joffe Emergency Services is looking to hire Campus Safety Officers in the St. Louis, MO area. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s posture with client representatives, ensuring the highest quality of customer service is provided throughout all of the delivery systems within Security Division.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Act as first responder to all campus emergencies, medical and criminal, that could potentially be hazardous and/or life threatening.
• Enforce campus policies and procedures relating to safety and security concerns.
• Make regular inspection tours to ensure the safety and security of campus facilities and grounds.
• Watch for trespassers, graffiti and vandalism, fire, water leaks, or other circumstances which could lead to loss or damage to property and equipment.
• Unlock and lock buildings as scheduled for events as well as securing the campus following protocols and/or checklist.
• Observe and report hazardous conditions to management.
• Ensure inside and outside lights are turned on/off as required and inform the supervisor when any electrical or mechanical system is malfunctioning.
• Ensure only authorized persons are admitted to the campus while on duty.
• Direct visitors and assists as necessary.
• Monitor parking lots and direct traffic and parking as necessary. This includes enforcing campus traffic regulations including parking, and speeding.
• Enforce campus policies including smoking, alcohol usage, and drug usage.
• Observe weather conditions on campus and report dangerous or unusual weather‑related activity to management.
• Assist in investigations of violations on school campus by viewing and analyzing camera footage, talking with witnesses, and writing incident reports.
• Act as a liaison for the school campus with local law enforcement.
• Provide awareness education/information on an informal basis to students and employees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge and proficiency in report writing and communication
• Experience working in a school or educational campus environment a plus
• High School Diploma
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (will train if not certified)
• Must have a customer service driven mindset
• Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers
