Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of security experience preferred.
• Active Guard Card required.
• Active CPR certificate required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Experience with children or students preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently in dynamic environments.
• Read and write English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.
• Serve as a visible and approachable presence throughout campus.
• Respond to campus incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce school policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine patrols and safety inspections of campus grounds and facilities.
• Assist with traffic flow, parking, and visitor access.
• Write detailed incident reports and document security-related activity.
• Support school administration with safety and security needs as requested.
• Assist with campus investigations, including reviewing camera footage and gathering information.
• Help ensure campus buildings and facilities are properly secured.
• Build positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and local law enforcement.

Our Campus Safety Division partners with schools to provide a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Position Overview

Joffe Emergency Services is seeking a professional and dependable part-time Campus Safety Officer (CSO) to support a school campus in the Palos Verdes, CA area. This part-time position is expected to begin in mid-November 2026, with a Monday-Friday schedule. Shift times are still being finalized, and occasional weekend availability or extended hours may be required to support school rentals and events.

This role goes beyond traditional security - Campus Safety Officers are trusted members of the school community who help foster a safe, positive, and supportive campus environment. Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, approachable, observant, and comfortable working with students, staff, and families on a daily basis.

• Customer service experience required
• Experience working with children or students preferred

• Comfortable working independently and in dynamic environments
• Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations
• Must be able to read and write English fluently

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to perform routine patrols across campus grounds
