Job summary

Florida Tech is seeking a Campus Security Dispatcher to handle phone and in-person inquiries, dispatch officers, and provide safety information to the university community. The role operates within a 24/7 schedule and requires calm, professional conduct under pressure.

Ideal candidates will have administrative and dispatch experience, and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Training on CAD and campus procedures will be provided to support emergency responses.

Qualifications

• Administrative experience and dispatch experience desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with the security/dispatch industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer multiple phone lines and dispatch officers to locations using a two-way radio.
• Assist walk-ins with inquiries per established procedures.
• Provide safety information and directions to the campus community.
• Coordinate emergency response with law enforcement, medical, and fire services.
• Utilize the CAD system for dispatch operations and data entry.
• Provide clerical support and participate in special projects.
• May work during emergencies and on rotating schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
