About the position: The Campus Security Analyst supports the safety and security operations of Shady Hill School. The Campus Security Analyst is responsible for operating and administering the school’s security-technology systems and works with the Director of Campus Security on investigations, emergency preparedness, risk identification, and security protocol improvements. This is a full-time, in-person, exempt (salaried), year-round position reporting to the Director of Campus Security.
Primary Responsibilities:
Security Systems Management
- Manage all electronic security systems including systems for campus access control, employee IDs, emergency alerts, video surveillance, intrusion alarms, and other security programs
- Ensure all security systems are compliant with school policies
- Work with Technology Department on security system implementations and integrations as needed
- Administer employee access codes and IDs including setting up new employees, removing separated employees, and adjusting individual permissions as needed
- Conduct audits of security systems including device inventory and regular systems testing; review audit access logs regularly for patterns and vulnerability identification
- Activate campus-wide emergency alerts during drills and emergencies
- Manage video surveillance system and review and export footage on request and in compliance with school policies
Campus Security Operations
- Investigate security-related incidents and prepare detailed reports for the Director of Campus Security as needed
- With the Director of Campus Security, coordinate and support emergency drills, including fire, lockdown, evacuation, shelter-in place, and ALICE training exercises
- During an emergency, follow the Crisis Management Plan and support the Incident Commander as needed
- With the Director of Campus Security, conduct security assessments and identify vulnerabilities within campus buildings, grounds, and operations
- Respond to campus alarm calls during assigned on-call nights and weekends
- Liaise with local emergency services and security vendors as needed
- Support special events, after-hours activities, and emergency situations as needed
Campus Security Strategy
- Analyze incident reports, security trends, and operational data to recommend improvements and risk mitigation strategies
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of emergency response plans and procedures
- With the Director of Campus Security, provide security awareness training and guidance to students, employees, and visitors
- With the Director of Campus Security, prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership regarding security operations and risk management
Other responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and investigative materials.
- Other duties as assigned
Working conditions and schedule
- Must be able to navigate a multi-building campus in all weather conditions
- Standard business hours Monday - Friday plus on-call nights and weekends as scheduled

Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 Per Year

Job Requirements
- Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with access control systems, CCTV systems, alarm monitoring, and physical security principles
- Familiarity with institutional emergency response protocols
- Experience in campus or other private security, law enforcement, emergency management, or security operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and MAC OS
- IP networking fundamentals
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- ALICE, FEMA, NIMS, or related security certifications preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience conducting threat assessments and security audits to develop actionable recommendations
- Experience managing security technology projects
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diversity of constituents
- The range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.
- At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
