Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers seeks a School Security Specialist to help provide a safe and secure school environment, deter unsafe behavior, and support administrators with emergency or investigative situations. Incumbents patrol campus, monitor student behavior, enforce policies, and assist with visitors and surveillance.

Flexible hours including evenings and weekends may be required. This district-wide assignment assigns personnel to specific sites but may relocate to meet operational needs;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment and maintain professional demeanor.
• HIPAA/FERPA awareness and confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of the campus with high visibility; patrol hallways and parking areas and intervene in conflicts.
• Monitor lunch periods and monitor visitors.
• Assist administrators in investigations using security cameras and searches for weapons or substances.
• Discuss/mediate infractions and report unsafe conditions to administrators.
• Provide security at events outside school hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
