Job summary

California Baptist University in Riverside, CA is seeking a Safety Services Officer (Eligibility List) to patrol university property, enforce campus policies, and respond to emergency calls to protect people and property. The position may require working evenings, holidays and weekends.

Duties include vehicle or foot patrol, incident reporting, crime investigation support, escort services, building security, and maintaining daily activity logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate at a level suitable for the duties.

Responsibilities

• Patrols University property in a vehicle or on foot to provide security and traffic control.
• Responds to emergency and non-emergency radio calls.
• Provides assistance at the scene of first aid incidents/accidents; takes and writes incident/accident reports, including those of missing/stolen property and criminal activity.
• Assists with conducting accident and crime investigations, securing incident scenes, and preparing associated reports and documents.
• Provides escort services for visitors, students, staff, faculty, and individuals, and provides public assistance.
• Provides building security, including locking and unlocking doors.
• Writes and files daily activity report with a superior officer.
