The compensation for this appointment will range from $25.13 to$25.88 hourly and reflects what California Baptist Universityreasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Position Summary Information
Summary
Patrols University property to ensure compliance with universitypolicies, local, state, and federal laws and responds to emergencycalls to protect persons or property from crimes or other hazards.May be assigned to any shift, which could include working holidaysand weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Patrols University property in a vehicle or on foot to providesecurity and traffic control.
- Responds to emergency and non-emergency radio calls.
- Provides assistance at the scene of first aidincidents/accidents; takes and writes incident/accident reports,including those of missing/stolen property and criminalactivity.
- Assists with conducting accident and crime investigations,securing incident scenes, and preparing associated reports anddocuments.
- Provides escort services for visitors, students, staff,faculty, and individuals, and provides public assistance.
- Provides building security, including locking and unlockingdoors.
- Writes and files daily activity report with a superiorofficer.

- Skill in the use of personal computers and related softwareapplications.
- Ability to make judgment calls on sensitive, confidentialissues.
- A thorough knowledge of Business English and arithmetic,general office methods, procedures, and practices.
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the dutiesof the position.
- Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impartconfidential information.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and preparereports.
- Excellent telephone courtesy, knowledge, and experience.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines andprocedures.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and drawconclusions.
- Ability to wear a department issued body armor ballistic vestat all times when working in uniform.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree ( GED ); and 3years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinationof education and experience.
